Description
A Ford battery is a rechargeable battery that supplies electrical energy to your automobile. It is also known as an SLI battery (abbreviation of starting-lighting-ignition) and its main goal is to start the Ford engine.
The alternator supplies power for the car, once the engine is running.
Normally, starting discharges less than three per cent of the battery capacity. SLI batteries are made to discharge a high burst of current, measured in amperes, and then be quickly recharged.
They’re not designed for deep discharge, along with a total discharge can reduce the lifespan of the battery.
